Loved the food at Sandals Royal Plantation. After 8 trips to Jamaica I'm home!

It was our first stay at Sandals Royal Plantation.  I'd heard nothing but great things about this property and it's 74 All-Butler Suites. I was a little anxious and very excited with idea of a totally new place. We arrived late and were extremely tired from our travels.  My husband and I made our way to The Wobbly Peacock (The Pub) for a quick dinner. That's when we knew things were going to be special. The staff made us feel right at home, like we were dining with old friends. We sat at the bar and just chatted with everyone. We were already learning names!  And, that's the beginning of the unique experience at Royal Plantation. The staff. Everyone was very welcoming and warm, from the minute we arrived. Every member of the team was available to serve you and take care of any and all needs. The Jamaican people are leaders in hospitality and every day we had shining examples from the employees. After eight trips to Jamaica, I do truly feel like I'm coming "home". My other favorite from this resort...The Food! The dining experience was like no other.  If it's available on the island, they'll make it for you. I had the most delicious fettuccini alfredo, on Italian Night, with grilled shrimp. It was so amazing, I told our server..."I could lick this bowl". She actually made the same dish for me at lunch, the next day and it was just as wonderful. The quality and the variety that was available, for lunch alone, was outstanding.  Lobster BLT's, Coconut Shrimp, Jerk Chicken and Pork, Catch of The Day, or you could name your own lunch. You spent each meal...thinking about the next. Our dinners were an "event" every, single evening. A highlight for me, was "Jamaican Night". They had a fabulous selection of traditional Jamaican food and a large grill, set outside on The Terrace. We dined on Lobster Tails, grilled Snapper, and (our favorite) Jerk Chicken. The room service, as well, was always quick and piping hot. The food was fresh and prepared perfectly, each and every time. The beach is smaller at this property.  But, there were two different coves and plenty of chairs for everyone. There were umbrellas and shaded areas, as well.  The water was smooth and calm. Our drinks were always full and fresh, with service from The Beach Butlers. You never had to leave your chair! Sandals Royal Plantation is a special destination. The resort is smaller, and quiet. You had a real sense of being a "guest" in a very intimate setting. It's the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary or special occasion.  Or, in our case, to just relax and reconnect. The beautiful setting and the lush greenery was ideal. And, who doesn't want to wake up every morning to that crystal blue ocean? We left Royal Plantation feeling like we were leaving family and dear friends. I'm always so thankful for the days I spend in Jamaica. The memories are priceless and I leave dreaming of my next visit back to this magical place.
